Bhopal, October 19 (Daily Kiran): A fire broke out late Saturday night at the Central Bank branch on Marwari Road in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. According to initial reports, a short circuit is suspected to be the cause of the incident.

Eyewitnesses noticed smoke coming out of the bank building and immediately alerted the police and fire brigade. Fire tenders from Jumerati Safakhana and Fatehgarh rushed to the scene, and firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control after a two-hour operation.
Officials said some documents inside the bank were damaged, but cash and valuables remained safe. The fire alarm system inside the branch was activated soon after the blaze began, helping nearby residents detect the incident quickly.
Due to narrow roads in the old city, firefighters faced difficulties reaching the bank. Local residents assisted by clearing parked vehicles and making way for the fire engines. The flames were finally doused completely around 1:30 a.m., said firefighter Rajendra Batham, who was part of the operation.
The bank management is currently assessing the extent of the damage, while police and fire officials are conducting a detailed investigation into the cause of the fire.
