Finn Allen Shines in IPL 2026, Becomes KKRs Fourth Centurion

New Delhi, May 9: In a thrilling match on Friday evening at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium, Finn Allen stole the spotlight during the IPL 2026 clash between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The explosive opener not only led his team to victory but also became the fourth player from KKR and the second from New Zealand to score a century in IPL history. Allen’s century is also the fastest for KKR in the tournament.

Delhi Capitals set a modest target of just 143 runs for KKR, and Allen achieved his century with remarkable speed, facing only 47 balls. He finished his innings unbeaten at 100 runs, hitting 5 fours and 10 sixes along the way.

Allen is now the second New Zealand player to score a century in the IPL, following in the footsteps of Brendon McCullum, who has two centuries to his name, including one while playing for KKR.

Brendon McCullum was the first player to score a century for KKR, achieving this feat in the inaugural season of IPL in 2008. He scored an unbeaten 158 runs off 73 balls against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

After 2008, KKR’s next century came in 2023, when Venkatesh Iyer scored 104 runs off 51 balls against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium. In IPL 2024, Sunil Narine also made his mark by scoring 109 runs off 56 balls against Rajasthan Royals, becoming the third KKR player to hit a century.
