FIFA World Cup Trophy Unveiled in Delhi Ahead of 2026 Tournament

The FIFA World Cup 2026 trophy has arrived in India ahead of the much-anticipated tournament beginning on 11 June. On Saturday, the trophy was unveiled at the Taj Man Singh Hotel in New Delhi by former Brazilian international player Gilberto Silva, in the presence of Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and All India Football Federation (AIFF) President Kalyan Chaubey.

The trophy will remain on display in Delhi for two days before being taken to Guwahati for a one-day exhibition. Speaking on social media platform X, the Sports Minister stated, “The FIFA World Cup 2026 trophy was unveiled in India on Saturday. It will stay in the country for three days, boosting the morale and enthusiasm of young players.”

The 23rd edition of the FIFA World Cup will be jointly hosted by Canada, the United States, and Mexico from 11 June to 19 July. This tournament will feature 48 teams divided into 12 groups of four. Following the group stage, 32 teams will advance to the knockout rounds. The final match to decide the world champion will take place at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on 19 July.

Group B: Canada, Qatar, Switzerland, and one qualifying team.

Group C: Brazil, Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland.

Group E: Germany, Curaçao, Ivory Coast, and Ecuador.

Group F: Netherlands, Japan, Tunisia, and one qualifying team.

Group G: Belgium, Egypt, Iran, and New Zealand.

Group H: Spain, Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia, and Uruguay.

Group I: France, Senegal, Norway, and one qualifying team.

Group J: Argentina, Algeria, Austria, and Jordan.

Group K: Portugal, Uzbekistan, Colombia, and one qualifying team.

Group L: England, Croatia, Ghana, and Panama.
