FASTag Annual Pass Receives Massive Response on First Day – 1.4 Lakh Passes Booked by Evening

The FASTag Annual Pass, officially launched across India today, has received an overwhelming response from users. By 7 PM on the very first day, around 1.4 lakh annual passes were booked, reflecting strong interest from highway users. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had made robust preparations to ensure smooth operations for this new facility.

FASTag Annual Pass Launched on Independence Day

NHAI officially launched the FASTag Annual Pass on 15 August 2025, coinciding with Independence Day. This annual pass is valid at about 1,150 toll plazas across selected National Highways (NH) and National Expressways (NE) in the country. Bookings for the pass began today, and users can conveniently purchase and activate it online from their homes. The response on the first day was very encouraging.

1.4 Lakh Passes Booked by Evening

The annual pass received tremendous response from highway users. Bookings started today and by 7 PM, nearly 1.4 lakh users had purchased and activated the annual pass. Additionally, about 1.39 lakh transactions were recorded at toll plazas on the first day. Around 20,000 to 25,000 users were using the Rajmargyatra app at any given time, receiving SMS confirmations for zero toll deductions under the annual pass.

Support and Facilitation for Pass Holders

To ensure hassle-free travel, NHAI has appointed officials and nodal officers at each toll plaza. The 1033 National Highway Helpline has also been strengthened with more than 100 officers to address user complaints related to the annual pass.

How to Activate the FASTag Annual Pass

To get the FASTag Annual Pass, users need to pay ₹3,000, which is valid for one year or 200 trips (whichever comes first). The pass can be purchased or activated via the official NHAI website or the Rajmargyatra mobile app. The pass is applicable only to private vehicles like cars, jeeps, or vans, and not to commercial vehicles.

Activation Process

• Go to the Rajmargyatra mobile app and click on the ‘Annual Toll Pass’ tab.

• Click on the ‘Activate’ button for booking.

• Click ‘Get Started’ to begin the process.

• Enter your vehicle registration number.

• Enter your mobile number to receive an OTP.

• Enter the OTP and proceed to payment.

• Select your preferred payment mode and pay ₹3,000.

• The pass will be activated within two hours of payment.

Important Points to Remember

Before activating the FASTag Annual Pass, make sure your vehicle’s FASTag is not registered with a chassis number. The pass requires FASTag to be registered with the vehicle registration number (VRN). Double-check all vehicle details on the app before making payment. Only use the official NHAI or Rajmargyatra apps/websites for purchase; do not use any other site or app, as it could be fraudulent.
