Patna, June 20: JDU MP Sanjay Kumar Jha raised questions regarding the Bharat Tiwari encounter case, stating that the recently surfaced video casts serious doubts on the incident.
During a conversation with reporters, Jha mentioned that the state government acted promptly by suspending four police officers involved in the case. However, he emphasized that mere suspension is not enough. He urged senior officials to ensure a timely investigation to prevent it from dragging on indefinitely.
Jha asserted that strict action should be taken against anyone found guilty in the investigation. He stressed that the government’s principle of “no criminal will be spared” must apply equally to all, whether they are ordinary citizens or police personnel.
He further clarified that if any police officer is found involved in criminal activities, they should face the same consequences as other offenders.
Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s release of the 23rd installment of the Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme, Jha stated that the direct transfer of ₹2,000 to farmers’ accounts provides significant relief to the farming community, bolstering their economic situation. He noted that this financial support greatly benefits farmers, enabling them to manage their agriculture effectively.
On party organizational matters, he highlighted that a recent meeting was the largest since the assembly elections. Jha reported that the Janata Dal (United) contested 101 seats and won 85, reinforcing the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) overall performance.
He added that the selection of party leadership and the national president was unanimous, and the focus is now on organizational expansion and strengthening the party in Bihar. According to him, party membership has nearly reached one crore, indicating significant growth.
Sanjay Jha emphasized the importance of this meeting as it sets the strategy for strengthening the organization at the grassroots level to effectively tackle upcoming political challenges.
