
Lucknow, May 11: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participated in several significant events on Monday. He emphasized that these programs are vital for reinforcing the image of New India and New Uttar Pradesh, focusing on religion, culture, and development.
In a post on his social media account, X, CM Yogi stated, “Today is dedicated to spiritual consciousness, cultural pride, and the commitment to a developed India. I will have the opportunity to join the ‘Somnath Sankalp Mahotsav’ in the holy city of Varanasi, in the esteemed presence of Governor Anandiben Patel, which includes spiritual programs associated with Jyotirlinga. Following this, I will participate in the Prana Pratishtha of the new idols and the eight-month Bhandara program at the Shri Gorakhnath Ashram in Bagpat (Nangal).”
He also mentioned, “Additionally, I will engage in discussions on crucial topics related to the global economy, industry, and society at the CII Annual Business Summit 2026 – A Vision for India @ 100, held in New Delhi.”
CM Yogi concluded by stating, “Faith, spirituality, culture, and development are the strong identities of New India and New Uttar Pradesh.”
Notably, the Somnath Temple is considered a significant symbol of Indian faith and Sanatan traditions. It was attacked by Mahmud of Ghazni in 1026, yet despite numerous invasions and challenges, the temple remains a center of devotion for millions. This year marks the 1000th anniversary of that event, and the ‘Somnath Swabhimaan Parv’ is being celebrated across the country.
The event is viewed as a celebration of India’s unwavering faith, the vibrancy of Sanatan culture, and national pride. On May 11, 2026, special prayers, Kalash Yatras, Bhajan Sandhya, and religious programs will be organized at various prominent Shiva temples across the country.
Special programs are also scheduled at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, with the participation of CM Yogi Adityanath, Governor Anandiben Patel, along with several ministers, public representatives, and devotees expected to attend.
