Eva Longoria Reveals She Has Never Watched Desperate Housewives

Mumbai, May 27: Hollywood actress Eva Longoria recently opened up in an interview about her iconic role in the popular TV show ‘Desperate Housewives,’ revealing that she has never watched her own series.

From 2004 to 2012, Longoria portrayed Gabrielle Solis, a character that gained immense popularity and earned her international recognition. Her performance in the show garnered several prestigious awards, including two Screen Actors Guild Awards and a nomination for a Golden Globe Award.

During a conversation on the ‘Dinner On Me’ podcast with Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eva shared, “These days, people are revisiting the show, and it’s becoming quite popular on streaming platforms. I am often advised to watch it, but I always decline. Since I was part of the show, I don’t see the need to watch it.”

Longoria added, “I didn’t watch it back then when it first aired either. I never sit down to watch my own work.”

In addition to Eva, the show featured several renowned actors, including Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, and Nicollette Sheridan. ‘Desperate Housewives’ ran for a total of 180 episodes and is considered one of the most successful TV programs of its time.

When asked about a potential reboot, Eva mentioned, “The show’s creator, Marc Cherry, is currently not in favor of reviving it. He believes that every character’s story has been fully explored and concluded well, making it difficult to revisit that world.”

Eva also highlighted the difference between television shows of the past and those of today, stating, “In the past, a show would have 24 episodes a year, allowing the story to develop over several years. Nowadays, most shows are limited to just 6 or 8 episodes.”
