Delhi Police to Take Measures Against CJP Protest in Connaught Place
Delhi Police plans to control the CJP protest in Connaught Place, citing potential disruptions to public life and local businesses.

New Delhi, October 15 (Daily Kiran) : The Delhi High Court is set to hear a petition regarding a planned protest by the “Cockroach People’s Party” (CJP) at Central Park in Connaught Place on October 16. The petitioner argues that the protest could significantly disrupt daily life and lead to substantial economic losses for local businesses.
In response, the Delhi Police informed the High Court that they will implement all necessary measures to manage the CJP demonstration. The court has officially recorded this statement. The next hearing on the matter is scheduled for November 3.
The petition was filed by Anil Kumar Gupta, a street vendor operating in the Palika Bazaar area of Connaught Place. He is seeking an injunction to prevent the CJP from holding any protests or gatherings in Central Park or any other location not designated for such activities. Gupta has also called for a broader ban on protests in central Delhi.
Senior lawyer Sachin Puri presented the case before Acting Chief Justice Nitin W. Sambre, requesting immediate interim relief to stop the proposed gathering in the heart of the national capital.
Puri highlighted that the protest on October 16 could lead to severe traffic congestion throughout Connaught Place, disrupting business activities. He noted the timing of the protest coinciding with the Dussehra weekend, which could exacerbate the situation, as similar demonstrations had already impacted businesses the previous weekend.
