The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is set to launch its new digital platform, EPFO 3.0, to provide modern technology and faster services to its members. This move aims to offer a better digital experience and more convenience to over 8 crore employees across India.

IT Companies to Handle Development
Leading IT companies like Infosys, Wipro, and TCS have been entrusted with the responsibility of developing and maintaining the new EPFO platform. Their goal is to make the system more secure, reliable, and user-friendly for employees.
PF Withdrawal via ATM and UPI
A major feature of EPFO 3.0 will be the ability for employees to withdraw money directly from their PF accounts through ATMs and UPI, just like a bank account. This will be especially helpful in urgent financial situations. For this facility, linking the Universal Account Number (UAN) with Aadhaar will be mandatory.
Online Claim and Correction Facility
Employees will be able to make minor corrections, such as name, date of birth, or other details, online without visiting EPFO offices. Claim tracking will also be completely digital, making the process faster and simpler.
Enhanced Digital Experience
The new platform will offer real-time information on balance and contributions. The interface will be user-friendly, allowing employees to easily access and manage their PF details.
Immediate Settlement of Death Claims
EPFO has decided to settle claims immediately in the case of a member’s death. If a minor is nominated, a guardianship certificate will no longer be required, ensuring faster financial help for the family.
Reason for Launch Delay
The launch of EPFO 3.0 was initially planned for June 2025 but was delayed due to technical testing and further improvements. The Ministry and EPFO are working to make the platform more effective, and it is expected to be available in the coming months.
Recent Reforms in EPFO
EPFO has already taken steps to enhance its digital services, such as Aadhaar-based KYC, online correction facility, and automatic PF transfer when changing jobs. EPFO 3.0 will take these reforms further and make the experience smoother for all employees.
