Tragic Road Accident in Madhya Pradesh Claims One Life, Injures Five

Guna, April 5: Authorities reported that a tragic road accident occurred on Saturday in Guna district, Madhya Pradesh, resulting in the death of an elderly woman and serious injuries to five other family members. The incident took place when their car collided with a divider and fell into a 40-foot deep gorge.

The family was returning from a pilgrimage to the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain and the Omkareshwar Temple. They had worshipped at both Jyotirlingas and were on their way to a religious gathering hosted by a relative in Gwalior, planning to return home on Sunday.

The unfortunate event unfolded when the car suddenly lost control, struck the highway divider, and plunged into the gorge. Anita Agarwal, the elderly woman, died at the scene. The other five occupants of the vehicle sustained serious injuries.

One of the survivors, Lokesh Dwivedi, informed the police that his brother was driving the car. He described how the vehicle became uncontrollable, hit the divider, and fell into the gorge, leaving them in darkness for a moment. Before he could comprehend what was happening, the car flipped over.

The injured have been identified as Gopal Agarwal, Girdhar Agarwal, Shivanya Agarwal (a young woman), Krishvi Agarwal, and Lokesh Dwivedi. Local residents and police arrived promptly to assist the victims. They were rushed to the district hospital in Guna for immediate treatment.

Upon receiving the accident report, Guna police initiated a rescue and investigation operation. A case of death due to negligence has been registered, and further inquiries are underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.

The police have also informed the victims’ families about the incident. This accident has left the local community in deep shock, especially since the victims were returning from a pilgrimage.
