
Bulawayo: England secured a commanding victory over Bangladesh by 7 wickets in their third Super Six match of the Under-19 World Cup 2026 held at Queens Sports Club on Monday.
Bangladesh Struggles Batting First
Winning the toss, Bangladesh chose to bat but struggled throughout their innings. They were bowled out for a modest total of 136 runs in 38.1 overs. Early loss of Javad Abrar’s wicket at 7 runs put pressure on the team. Captain Azizul Hakim Tamim and Rifat Beg then added a steady 46-run partnership for the second wicket, stabilising the innings momentarily. However, after their dismissal, Bangladesh’s batting line-up collapsed.
Rifat Beg scored 31 runs with four boundaries before getting out, while captain Azizul contributed 20 runs. Mohammad Abdullah added 25 runs, and Shahriar Ahmed chipped in with 18 runs. From the England bowling side, Sebastian Morgan was the pick with 3 wickets, supported by Ralphi Albert and Manny Lumsden who took 2 wickets each.
England Chase Down Target Confidently
In response, England reached the target comfortably in 24.1 overs, losing just two wickets. Joseph Moores fell early at the score of 3. Following this, Ben Dockins and Ben Mayes put together a crucial 36-run partnership off 40 balls, taking the team to 39 runs. Dockins struck 5 sixes in his 27-ball 27-run knock before getting out.
Ben Mayes then joined captain Thomas Rave, and the duo added an unbeaten 78 runs in 68 balls to bring England close to victory. Mayes scored 34 runs off 50 balls with three boundaries before being dismissed. Captain Thomas Rave led the team home with a stellar unbeaten 59-run innings, featuring 2 sixes and 5 fours. From Bangladesh, Al Fahad took 2 wickets and Mohammad Samiun Basir Ratul claimed one wicket.

With this win, England continues their campaign in Group 2 of the Super Six stage. They are set to face New Zealand on 30 January, while Bangladesh will take on Zimbabwe on 31 January.
