Lucknow, September 29 (Daily Kiran) : A 22-year-old fugitive, Bhola Rajput, wanted in connection with a woman’s murder, was arrested during a police encounter in Lucknow on September 29. The operation was conducted by Krishna Nagar police and a surveillance team.
During the encounter, Rajput sustained a gunshot wound to his right leg and was subsequently admitted to Lok Bandhu Hospital for treatment. Authorities recovered a .315-bore illegal firearm, a cartridge, a shell casing, and a scooter allegedly used in the crime from him. Rajput was wanted under Section 103(1) of the Indian Penal Code, with a reward of ₹25,000 for his capture.
DCP Mohammad Mushtaq stated that a thorough checking operation had been ordered for that evening. While stopping several suspicious individuals in the Krishna Nagar area, one suspect opened fire on the police. In self-defense, the police returned fire, injuring Rajput, who was then rushed to the hospital.
Further investigation identified Rajput as a resident of Unnao, linked to the brutal murder of a woman. Legal proceedings are underway against him.
In a separate incident on the night of September 27, a joint team from the Govardhan police and the Special Operations Group (SOG) in Mathura also achieved a significant breakthrough. During an encounter, another suspect was arrested with injuries, and police confiscated ₹2,750, a firearm, cartridges, a motorcycle, the victim’s mark sheet, a driving license, and a fake Aadhaar card from him.
