Prayagraj, June 2: The central and state governments are implementing various schemes to economically empower women in both rural and urban areas. These initiatives aim to make women self-reliant through skill development and provide them with self-employment opportunities. The Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) is playing a crucial role in this mission by offering vocational training to women, thereby strengthening their economic status.
At RSETI, women and young girls receive training in various fields. After completing their training, they are also guided on how to start their own businesses and provided with information about financial assistance. The primary goal of the institute is to enable trainees to become self-sufficient and improve their family’s economic condition. Under the Prime Minister‘s ‘Skill India’ vision, RSETI focuses on skill development and promoting self-employment.
Currently, RSETI in Prayagraj is conducting a 35-day ‘Junior Beauty Practitioner’ training program. This program is training 33 female candidates. Upon completion, these women can offer beauty services from home or start their own beauty parlors.
A notable feature of this center is the accommodation provided for trainees coming from outside. Additionally, special night classes are organized for women residing at the institute to further enhance their skills. This initiative offers rural women and girls a significant opportunity for advancement.
RSETI trainer Reena Kushwaha stated that the ‘Junior Beauty Practitioner’ training is entirely free and aims to empower women through skill development. Prime Minister Narendra Modi envisions empowering women and advancing them under the Skill India campaign. During the training, participants are educated not only in technical skills but also in the process of starting a business.
She mentioned that after receiving training and certification, candidates often face challenges related to financial resources. In such cases, the institute assists them in obtaining loans under the Chief Minister‘s Youth Scheme and the Prime Minister’s Mudra Scheme, enabling them to start their own businesses.
Reena Kushwaha shared that the ‘Junior Beauty Practitioner’ program lasts for 35 days and offers free training to unemployed individuals aged 18 to 50. She emphasized that this program is not just about teaching skills; it aims to guide trainees towards self-reliant living.
The women undergoing training have praised this initiative. They noted that women today are becoming more self-reliant compared to the past and are receiving better opportunities for advancement. According to the trainees, current government schemes have provided women with the chance to recognize their skills and turn them into employment.
Trainees Urmila Patel and Pushpa reported that training programs in sewing and beauty are bringing positive changes to women’s lives. After training, women are starting their own businesses and achieving financial independence. Previously, such opportunities were limited for women in rural areas, but now, through government schemes and training programs, they are rapidly moving towards self-reliance.
