Empowering Women: Insights from the National Conference on Womens Thought Leaders

New Delhi, March 8: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a two-day national conference titled ‘Bharati: Nari Se Narayani’ was held at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi. The event brought together women thinkers, educators, social activists, and prominent figures from various fields across the country.

On the second day, Shantakumari, the chief director of the Rashtriya Sevika Samiti, emphasized the importance of implementing the ideas discussed at such conferences in real life. She stated, “The true significance of discussions at these conferences is realized only when those ideas are put into practice. Several important resolutions were made, and serious discussions took place on various issues related to societal development. However, if these thoughts remain confined to the stage, society will not benefit fully. It is essential that every individual applies these invaluable ideas in their behavior and life.”

In her address, she also highlighted the significance of women in Indian culture. She remarked, “Women hold immense importance in our country. We all know and say that every woman is Narayani. Why do we call them Narayani? When a woman fulfills her responsibilities towards society with pure consciousness and positive thinking, she transcends being just a woman and becomes Narayani. When an ordinary mother guides society through her duties and values, she earns respect as Shri Mata. Similarly, when a woman steps forward with her qualities and leadership skills, she naturally garners respect.”

She further stated, “There is no need to demand respect from society; rather, an individual’s conduct and work earn them respect. If women recognize their potential and strengthen their personalities, society begins to assign them leadership roles. Women’s behavior should inspire society and encourage it to progress in a positive direction. When women acknowledge their power and capabilities, they motivate the entire society to advance.”

In a conversation, Leena Rahane mentioned that the concept of ‘Nari Se Narayani’ aims to awaken dignity and pride among women in the country. She stressed that all policies and efforts regarding women’s education and health should be implemented in a way that benefits all women in society.

She added that the sessions held on International Women’s Day aimed to ensure that India’s development is led by women, and that women’s roles will be crucial in realizing Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047. Women should recognize their strength and take responsibility not only for their families but also for society. This will create a positive environment and help realize the dream of a safe and developed India.
