ED Raids AAP MLA Aman Deep Kaur Aroras Homes in Moga

The Enforcement Directorate conducted raids at the homes of AAP MLA Aman Deep Kaur Arora in Moga, stirring political tensions in Punjab.

Moga, November 4 (Daily Kiran) : The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out searches at two residences belonging to Aman Deep Kaur Arora, a legislator from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), in Moga, Punjab, on November 4. ED officials arrived early in the morning to initiate the operation.

This development has sparked considerable discussion within Punjab’s political circles. However, it remains unclear what specific case prompted the searches or whether any formal accusations have been made against Arora. As of now, the ED has not issued any official statement regarding the seizure of documents, cash, or other items during the raids.

Political reactions are anticipated from both the ruling AAP and opposition parties in response to the operation. Further details are awaited as the situation unfolds. Aman Deep Kaur Arora serves as the MLA for Moga and leads the party’s women’s wing in Punjab.

Recently, she received her party’s nomination for the upcoming 2027 Punjab Assembly elections in this region. On October 31, AAP released its first list of 40 candidates for the elections.

Party leaders have alleged that the raids are an attempt to pressure Arora into joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), referencing a similar situation involving Jalalabad MLA Raminder Singh Awla.

Following news of the raids, AAP workers gathered at the scene to protest, chanting slogans against the ED’s actions. A significant police presence was deployed to maintain order outside the residences. Activists claim that the raids are being conducted at the behest of the BJP, asserting that the party has minimal political influence in Punjab. A close associate of the MLA stated, “Neither the Akali Dal nor the BJP has any viable candidates to contest from Moga.”
