Congress Takes Action Against Officials Absent from Rally, 83 Suspended

Congress suspends 83 officials for absence from a key rally in Delhi, emphasizing accountability within the party.

New Delhi, November 4 (Daily Kiran) : The Congress party has taken decisive action against officials who were absent from the ‘Vote Save, Country Save’ rally held on November 1 at Ram Leela Maidan in New Delhi. A total of 83 officials have been suspended, reflecting the party’s commitment to accountability.

In a significant move by the Indian Youth Congress, suspensions were issued across three states: 60 officials in Madhya Pradesh, 10 in Haryana, and 13 in Himachal Pradesh. The suspended members range from state vice presidents to district heads, sending a clear message about the importance of participation in party activities.

During the rally, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed the crowd, making serious allegations against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Gandhi accused Kumar of “vote theft,” asserting that he would face legal repercussions and potentially imprisonment for his actions.

Gandhi emphasized the ongoing struggle to protect the nation’s democracy and constitution, claiming that Kumar’s actions represented a severe violation of electoral integrity. He described the situation as a rare legal offense, asserting that the manipulation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and the removal of 13.5 crore names from voter lists constituted a theft of citizens’ voices.

He declared that the gathering at the rally symbolized a united front against those in power, asserting that no one is above the constitution. “The constitution is supreme,” he stated, reinforcing the need for solidarity and collective strength to safeguard democracy.

Gandhi further criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accusing them of attacking the very essence of the nation. “We will not tolerate this,” he vowed, highlighting the party’s resolve to stand firm against perceived injustices.
