New Delhi, March 5: The vibrant festival of Holi was celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country on Wednesday. While most people enjoy playing with colors and gulal, the biggest concern afterward is often the stubborn stains left on clothes.
Removing deep-colored Holi stains from white or light-colored fabrics can be challenging. Regular washing may not suffice, but there’s no need to worry. By following some simple home remedies and tips, you can effectively clean your clothes after the festivities.
To tackle stubborn Holi colors, you can use lemon juice, baking soda, or white vinegar. These home remedies are considered some of the most effective ways to remove tough stains from fabrics.
Additionally, rubbing lemon and salt on the colored stains or soaking the clothes in a mixture of baking soda and water for 15 to 20 minutes before washing with detergent can yield good results.
Soaking the clothes in vinegar and hot water for a while, followed by a wash with detergent, can also help eliminate stubborn stains. Applying old or sour yogurt to the stained areas and rubbing it in can lighten the color of the stains as well.
To remove tough stains, toothpaste can also be used. Apply it to the stained areas for 15-20 minutes, then wash with detergent.
Mix half a cup of white vinegar and two tablespoons of baking soda in a bucket of warm water. Soak the clothes in this mixture for an hour, then wash thoroughly with detergent. This remedy is also quite effective in removing stubborn stains.
