District Magistrate Reviews Election Office Operations in Pauri Garhwal

New Delhi, August 22: District Magistrate Swati S. Bhadauria conducted an unannounced inspection of the District Election Office located at the district headquarters in Pauri Garhwal. The review focused on the Special Intensive Review (SIR) processes currently underway.

During the inspection, she gathered information on the progress of various tasks, including counting forms, voter lists, and actions being taken at the BLO and AERO levels, as well as the hearings of notices across all assembly constituencies in the district.

In an interview with a news agency, the District Magistrate and District Election Officer Swati highlighted that the unannounced inspection aimed at reviewing the disposal of SIR forms. She instructed the relevant officials to ensure that necessary reports and verifications are completed, particularly for SIR forms lacking BLO and AERO reports. She emphasized that all forms should be processed according to established procedures and with high quality.

Swati stated that attention must be paid not only to the quantity of SIR work but also to the quality, verification, and accuracy of each form. This is crucial for ensuring that the review process is conducted systematically and effectively. During the inspection, she also communicated with the EROs of Yamkeshwar and Srinagar assembly constituencies, directing them to send forms in the required format along with the necessary reports. Additionally, she spoke with the BLO of the Srinagar assembly constituency to gather information regarding the notice hearing process.

While appreciating the work being done in the Choubattakhal and Kotdwar assembly constituencies, she encouraged officials to maintain the same level of coordination moving forward. The District Magistrate noted that the hearing process is progressing as planned in all assembly constituencies, and the remaining procedures will be completed shortly. She instructed that all SIR forms be filled out according to the prescribed format and that checks and quality assurance be ensured at every level.
