Mumbai, August 24: Actress Tanushree Dutta, known for her roles in films like “Aashiq Banaya Aapne” and “Dhol,” has once again shared her candid views on age and seniority in Bollywood. She asserts that respect should not be granted solely based on a person’s age or their long-standing presence in the film industry.
Reflecting on her experiences, Dutta emphasized that a person’s identity should be defined by their character rather than their age. On Monday, she shared a video on Instagram discussing her journey in Bollywood and the lessons she has learned along the way. She stated, “I used to think that older actors were not getting work, so I would help them. But in Bollywood, being a ‘veteran’ often means being cunning and experienced, having learned all the tricks of the trade through manipulation.”
Dutta pointed out that such individuals can hide their true nature behind their seniority and experience. They often know how to sway public and media perception in their favor.
She cautioned, “Do not trust someone just because of their age. Some of these so-called veterans harbor very negative intentions towards the youth and will do anything to undermine them. Bollywood has witnessed this repeatedly.”
In her post, Dutta stressed that one should not judge a person based on their age, appearance, or background. True identity is revealed through one’s nature and actions. “This world is shaped by people like us and destroyed by those who wear a mask of decency,” she added.
She concluded with a powerful message: “Recognize the souls and divinity within. If being older or more experienced is the only criterion for respect, then even malevolent beings could be labeled as ‘veterans.’”
Dutta shared a significant lesson from her experiences: “Today, I give respect based on character, not age.”
