
Mumbai, August 24: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, known for his versatility, has recently surprised fans by starting the shooting of his new film ‘Samuk’. This year, he has already appeared in films like ‘Bhoot Bangla’ and ‘Welcome to the Jungle’.
Kumar took to Instagram to announce the commencement of ‘Samuk’ with a stylish video from the set. In the clip, he is seen dressed in a black suit and tie, exuding charm and confidence. He sports black sunglasses and holds the film’s clapperboard, showcasing his character’s first look.
In his post, Akshay expressed his excitement about the project, stating, “New genre, new character, new challenge. Vivaan Ahuja reporting for duty. Shooting for ‘Samuk’ has begun today.” This caption reveals that his character in the film is named Vivaan Ahuja, sparking curiosity among fans.
‘Samuk’ is described as a science-fiction alien thriller. Directed by Kanishk Verma, the film is co-produced by Akshay Kumar and Vipul Amrutlal Shah. It is being developed on a grand scale and is set for a pan-India release. The storyline promises to intertwine military realism, survival horror, and a mysterious world of alien mythology.
Reports indicate that the first schedule of ‘Samuk’ is being filmed in London, suggesting a significant departure from Kumar’s previous works. In addition to ‘Samuk’, Akshay is also generating buzz for his upcoming film ‘Havaan’, where he will portray a villain. Directed by Priyadarshan, this psychological thriller features Saif Ali Khan in a key role and is slated for release on September 11.
