Amitabh Bachchan Shares Insights on Managing Home Life with Jaya Bachchan

Mumbai, August 24: Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has spent a significant part of his life in front of the camera, but his approach to family life is quite different. On the popular TV quiz show “Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18,” Amitabh often shares anecdotes from his life, including some interesting insights about his relationship with his wife, actress Jaya Bachchan.

During the show, contestant Preeti Raj asked Amitabh a personal question: Does Jaya scold him when he comes home late at night? Smiling, Amitabh replied, “I already know what to expect when I arrive late. So, to avoid being scolded, I prepare in advance.”

He explained, “As soon as I wake up, I send a message in the family group about where my shoot is and that I may be late getting home. I greet everyone in advance and say, ‘Today our shoot is here and there, so I will be late. Don’t wait for dinner.'”

When the contestant pressed, “But what happens if you come home late without informing?” Amitabh responded, “In that case, Jaya asks me, ‘Where have you been? You didn’t inform me. Is this a good time to come home?’ If I’m very late, Jaya eats without me and goes to bed.”

The conversation then shifted to whether Amitabh handles household chores when the staff is absent. He stated, “Whether there are four, eight, or ten people working at home, if the staff is not there, I manage everything myself. I clean the house. I don’t know how to cook, so if there’s no one to prepare food, I either order in or ask Jaya to cook.”

Amitabh shared a sweet story about asking Jaya to cook. He said, “When I ask Jaya to make something, she gets very excited. She prepares various dishes for me and after serving, she asks how I liked the food. I really enjoy Jaya’s cooking.”

He also mentioned a special dish made by Jaya. Although he has stopped eating kheer, he recently enjoyed mango kheer that Jaya prepared for him. Amitabh affectionately expressed on camera, “Thank you for this mango kheer, Jaya.”
