Dipti-Shanling Partnership Sets 144-Run Target for UP Warriors Against RCB

Vadodara: Uttar Pradesh Warriors have set a target of 144 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 18th match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026. The Warriors, struggling with four losses out of six matches so far, need a win against RCB to keep their hopes alive in the tournament.

On Thursday, at the BCA Stadium, RCB captain Smriti Mandhana won the toss and chose to field first, inviting UP Warriors to bat. The Warriors managed to score 143 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

The opening partnership between captain Meg Lanning and Dipti Sharma provided a strong start, putting together 74 runs in 8.1 overs. Lanning scored 41 runs off 30 balls, including one six and six fours, before being dismissed. Dipti Sharma then took charge and anchored the innings.

Dipti contributed a valuable 55 runs off 43 balls, hitting one six and six fours. She built several small partnerships to push the team towards a challenging total. Apart from her, Harleen Deol scored 14 runs, and Simran Shaikh added 10 runs to the team’s total. The Warriors lost three wickets in the last seven balls of their innings.

For RCB, Nadine de Klerk was the pick of the bowlers, taking four wickets for 22 runs. Grace Harris claimed two wickets, while Lauren Bell and Shreyanka Patil took one wicket each.

UP Warriors took the field under Meg Lanning’s captaincy with players including Simran Shaikh, Amy Jones (wicketkeeper), Harleen Deol, Chloe Tryon, Dipti Sharma, Shweta Sahrawat, Sophie Ecclestone, Asha Sobhna Joy, Shikha Pandey, and Kranti Gaud.

RCB, led by Smriti Mandhana, included Grace Harris, Georgia Voll, Radha Yadav, Richa Ghosh (wicketkeeper), Nadine de Klerk, Pooja Vastrakar, Arundhati Reddy, Sayali Satghare, Shreyanka Patil, and Lauren Bell in their playing eleven.
