Devotees Flock to Prayagraj and Haridwar for Ganga Dussehra Celebrations

Prayagraj, May 25: On the auspicious occasion of Ganga Dussehra, millions of devotees gathered at the Triveni Sangam for a sacred bath. The banks of the Sangam witnessed a massive influx of worshippers from early morning. Devotees offered prayers, donations, and tributes at the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, seeking prosperity and well-being.

One female devotee, who came to bathe at the Sangam, shared her thoughts, stating, “Today is the holy festival of Ganga Dussehra, which holds great significance. It would be a major irony to miss the Sangam bath while residing in Prayagraj.” She mentioned that she came to pray, meditate, and perform rituals for her family’s happiness and peace.

Meanwhile, in Haridwar, thousands of devotees also gathered from early morning to take part in the Ganga Dussehra celebrations. They bathed at Har Ki Pauri and nearby ghats, worshipping Mother Ganga and performing charitable acts while praying for prosperity.

Regarding the safety of devotees in Haridwar, SP City Abhay Singh extended wishes to all Ganga devotees on this occasion. He remarked that this festival is celebrated in a divine and grand manner in Haridwar, and preparations are made accordingly. The District Magistrate and SSP have implemented a well-structured plan for the event.

The SP City further explained that the fair area has been divided into 11 zones and 27 sectors. Police teams, dog squads, river police, mounted police, and fire services have been deployed at various locations. He expressed hope that devotees would leave with positive experiences after their sacred baths, as a large number of them head towards their destinations.
