Devkinandan Thakur Celebrates Holi at Priyakant Ju Temple, Advocates for Respectful Festivities

Vrindavan, March 2: “In the world, there is Holi, and in Braj, there is Hora”—this saying perfectly captures the essence of Holi in the Braj region. The vibrant colors of Holi celebrated in Mathura and Vrindavan are unmatched anywhere else in the world.

The festivities in Vrindavan began on February 25. On Monday, storyteller Devkinandan Thakur joined devotees at the Holi conference held at Priyakant Ju Temple, where he urged everyone to celebrate Holi with dignity.

In an exclusive conversation, he stated, “Holi is a festival of joy and divine bliss. We wish for Holi to be celebrated with true eternal sentiments, filled with love and purity. At a time when the world stands on the brink of conflict, surrounded by unrest and chaos, the Holi in Braj brings immense joy and spiritual ecstasy.”

Devkinandan Thakur further emphasized the importance of celebrating Holi together as Sanatanis, as this joy belongs solely to them. He urged all Sanatanis to adhere to decorum, abstaining from meat and alcohol, while enjoying the festivities with respect for elders.

Previously, he had also appealed to devotees from across the country and abroad who come to enjoy Holi. He encouraged welcoming them to Braj and celebrating the festival with purity, free from intoxication.

Today marks Holika Dahan in Vrindavan. Due to a lunar eclipse on March 3, the worship and burning of Holika will take place on the night of March 2. The period of Sutak will begin on the morning of March 3, with the eclipse starting after 3 PM. This is why Holika Dahan will occur today in most parts of the country.
