Jaipur : With a spirit of respect, nationalism, gratitude and festivity, Raksha Bandhan was celebrated at the Jaipur Military Station on Saturday. Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, accompanied by distinguished ladies, tied sacred rakhis to the soldiers of the Sapta Shakti Command, honouring the special bond between sisters and their protectors in uniform.
In a symbolic gesture of tradition and patriotism, Diya Kumari tied rakhis to Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander, Sapta Shakti Command, as well as to other soldiers. The ceremony represented a pledge of protection, respect and gratitude, reflecting the nation’s deep connection with its armed forces.
The Deputy Chief Minister expressed her admiration for the Indian Army’s selfless service, indomitable spirit and unwavering commitment to safeguarding the motherland. She told the media it was an honour and privilege to celebrate the festival with soldiers who stand guard over India’s sovereignty, highlighting their bravery in Op Sindoor, where they gave a strong response to the enemy. She also conveyed heartfelt thanks to soldiers serving far from their families, saying, “The people of Bharat are safe because of your sacrifice and vigilance.”
Army Commander Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh thanked the Deputy CM and the visiting sisters, calling it a rare honour to celebrate Raksha Bandhan with the women of Rajasthan. He noted that the gesture of sending 1.5 lakh rakhis to soldiers posted in remote areas serves as a great source of motivation for them.
The celebrations reinforced the bond of trust, respect and affection between the Indian Army and the citizens it protects. As the Bharat Raksha Parv concluded, the rakhis tied stood as symbols of unity, gratitude and patriotism.
