New Delhi, May 21: The controversy surrounding Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has escalated, reaching the police station. Abhishek Dubey, spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha in Delhi, filed a complaint at the Tigri police station, demanding an FIR against Gandhi for his inappropriate comments directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
The complaint states that during a public event on May 20, Rahul Gandhi used offensive language against the Prime Minister and the Home Minister. The complainant alleges that such language is against democratic decorum when used on a public platform.
Furthermore, the complaint emphasizes that remarks made against individuals holding constitutional positions or senior leaders of the country not only undermine their dignity but also increase the risk of social tension and discord. Abhishek Dubey insists that maintaining decorum in public discourse is crucial for a balanced and peaceful political environment.
In his complaint, he urged the police to thoroughly investigate the matter and file an FIR under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and other relevant legal provisions. He stressed that such actions are necessary to deter anyone from using similar language in future public forums.
The complaint also highlights that statements of this nature send the wrong message to society and can exacerbate political bitterness among the general populace, hence the need for immediate and stringent action.
As of now, there has been no official statement from the police regarding this complaint.
