
Balrampur, October 11 (Daily Kiran) : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asserted that the establishment of Ram Rajya hinges on the respect, safety, and self-reliance of women. Speaking at an event in Balrampur on October 11, he highlighted that true worship of Goddess Bhagwati entails a commitment to the dignity and security of every woman.
Adityanath addressed the gathering during the ‘Education Flight’ initiative, coinciding with the Sharadiya Navratri and International Girl Child Day. He celebrated nine girls, symbolizing the nine forms of Durga, by applying tilak, draping them in scarves, and presenting chocolates. He emphasized the importance of honoring women, stating that Indian culture has a long tradition of revering feminine strength, especially during Navratri.
Reflecting on the challenges faced by girls in education prior to 2017, he noted that many dropped out due to a lack of facilities like toilets and drinking water in schools. Since then, the government has provided uniforms, bags, books, sweaters, and shoes to 1.6 crore children annually, prioritizing girls’ education and women’s self-reliance.
The Chief Minister mentioned that the ‘Operation Kayakalp’ initiative is transforming government schools with improved infrastructure, smart classrooms, and digital libraries. He praised efforts in the aspirational districts, noting that education and healthcare must benefit all segments of society without discrimination to realize the dream of a developed India.
Adityanath also announced that funds from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme will be allocated in the names of female heads of households, granting them ownership rights. Additionally, the Ujjwala scheme provides gas connections to women, while over one crore families have received ownership rights through housing schemes. The construction of toilets in over three crore homes is part of a campaign to uphold women’s dignity.
He honored historical female figures like Mata Kaushalya, Janaki, and Rani Lakshmibai, asserting their representation of Indian women’s strength. He inaugurated various departmental exhibitions and distributed agricultural equipment to enhance farmers’ productivity.
During the event, the Chief Minister encouraged children by distributing study tables and stationery kits. He also presented track suits to outstanding students participating in national competitions. The children expressed their gratitude by gifting him a published book of their poems.
In closing, local legislator Kailash Nath Shukla remarked that the worship of girls and recognition of talented children during Navratri exemplifies enduring traditions. The Chief Minister’s efforts have significantly inspired and uplifted the community.
