Delhi Police Arrest Two Vehicle Thieves and Accomplice

New Delhi, March 22: In a successful operation, the police team from Chandni Chowk arrested two vehicle thieves and a man who purchased a stolen motorcycle. The police recovered two stolen motorcycles from their possession.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Raja Banthia reported that on March 14, a complaint was filed by Firoz Tyagi regarding vehicle theft. Tyagi stated that he parked his Hero Splendor motorcycle (number UP 17 V 3312) near Chandni Chowk at 1:30 PM. Upon returning about half an hour later, he discovered that his motorcycle had been stolen. Following the complaint, the Chandni Chowk police registered an FIR and initiated an investigation.

Inspector Kuldeep Singh was assigned to lead the investigation. His team included Head Constables Dalchand, Nand Kishore, Puran, Amit, and Vipul. They examined CCTV footage from the crime scene and identified two suspects.

Through informants and technical inputs, the police arrested Furkan (29) and Rihan (22) near Prince Gali, behind Dangal Maidan parking in Chandni Chowk. Both are residents of Sahibabad (Ghaziabad).

During interrogation, the suspects admitted they were friends working at a clothing embroidery shop in Loni, Ghaziabad. They confessed to selling stolen motorcycles to buyers. They revealed that Tyagi’s motorcycle was stolen from Chandni Chowk and sold to Rizwan (23) in Hapur for ₹8,000. The police recovered the motorcycle from Rizwan’s possession based on their identification.

A police official noted that Furkan had dropped out of school, while Rihan and Rizwan are illiterate. Rihan has a prior record of vehicle theft and robbery at the Vivek Vihar and Harsh Vihar police stations in Delhi.

The recovered items include a stolen Splendor bike and another motorcycle used in the crime, which belongs to Furkan’s cousin. The police have initiated necessary legal action against all the accused.
