Cyber Fraud Uncovered: Delhi Police Arrests Five in ₹12 Lakh Scam

New Delhi, March 28: The cyber team in southwest Delhi has dismantled a gang involved in investment fraud, leading to the arrest of five suspects. Authorities recovered six mobile phones and details of 35 bank accounts used in the crime.

Delhi police reported that on September 4, 2025, a resident named N. Rai filed a complaint on the NCRP portal. He claimed to be from Arunachal Pradesh but currently residing in Delhi. Rai alleged that he was lured into investing in the stock market through a purported company. After opening an OTC account on July 7, 2025, he was contacted by ‘Pariniti Jain’ and her associates through various mobile numbers, enticing him with promises of high returns.

Succumbing to this temptation, Rai transferred over ₹12.22 lakh. Later, he discovered that the company was fraudulent and that he had been scammed. Following this, he lodged a complaint at the cyber police station in southwest Delhi, prompting immediate action and the initiation of an investigation.

Given the seriousness of the allegations, a special team was formed. They conducted technical analysis, surveillance, and a thorough investigation of financial transactions. Based on the money trail and digital evidence, the suspects operating from Maharashtra were identified. Technical monitoring led to the identification of one suspect, Shridhar Dilip Ingale. Subsequently, the cyber team raided Shrirampur in Maharashtra and apprehended Ingale.

During interrogation, Ingale revealed that he sold ‘mule bank accounts’ on a commission basis to his associate Chaitanya, who currently resides in Dubai. He further disclosed that his accomplices, Archirayan Gorakh Kamble, Aziz Miran Sheikh, Pranav Jalindar, and Vishal Durgadas, assisted him in acquiring mule bank accounts from various individuals.

Following this, multiple raids were conducted, resulting in the arrest of the remaining co-accused: Archirayan Gorakh Kamble, Aziz Miran Sheikh, Pranav Jalindar, and Vishal Durgadas.

During continuous questioning, the suspects admitted to supplying mule bank accounts to cyber fraud rings on a commission basis. They acquired bank accounts from different individuals and subsequently took control of them for fraudulent transactions, which were then handed over to their associates, including Chaitanya in Dubai. This facilitated large-scale cyber fraud. Analysis of the bank accounts revealed transactions amounting to several crores linked to fraudulent activities.
