New Delhi, September 18 (Daily Kiran) : The Safdarjung Enclave police in New Delhi have apprehended a 24-year-old man involved in a fraud case linked to jewelry and cash valued at approximately ₹60 lakh. The suspect, Yash Kailash Bulchandani, hails from Kheda, Gujarat, and was arrested during a police operation in Mehsana.
Authorities reported that Bulchandani was found in possession of nearly 96 grams of melted gold, two gold coins, a gold chain, a diamond set, and a mobile phone. The police filed a First Information Report (FIR) under sections 318(4) and 303(2) of the Indian Penal Code at the Safdarjung Enclave police station on July 17.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the complainant had connected with the suspect via social media. Bulchandani posed as an investment expert, gaining the victim’s trust and persuading her to hand over cash and jewelry for investment purposes.
On July 9, he allegedly met the complainant in Delhi and fled with her mobile phone, jewelry, and a bag containing ₹14 lakh in cash along with a credit card. Following the complaint, a dedicated team was formed to investigate the case.
This team, led by Sub-Inspector Pankaj Kumar and comprising Head Constable Bhavani Singh and Constable Abhishek, operated under the supervision of Inspector Rajneesh Kumar, the station house officer, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Melvin Varghese.
Through technical analysis, CCTV footage review, and coordination with relevant agencies, the police gathered information that led to the identification and location of the suspect. Based on this intelligence, the police conducted a raid in Mehsana, resulting in Bulchandani’s arrest.
With the suspect in custody and stolen items recovered, the police believe they have resolved the case, although further investigations are ongoing.
