Delhi Government Honors Bhagat Singh with Commemorative March

New Delhi, September 27 (Daily Kiran) : In New Delhi, the Delhi government held a significant event titled “Chalo Bhagat Singh Ke Saath” to commemorate the birth anniversary of the revered freedom fighter Bhagat Singh on September 27. The event saw enthusiastic participation from youth, volunteers, government employees, and patriotic citizens who took part in a march.

An official statement revealed that the march commenced from Parliament Street and proceeded to Kartavya Path, accompanied by chants of “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”

During the event, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta unveiled statues of Bhagat Singh, along with fellow martyrs Rajguru and Sukhdev. Cooperation and Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Inderraj Singh attended as a distinguished guest.

Chief Minister Gupta expressed her admiration for the youth’s participation, emphasizing the significance of their involvement in honoring Bhagat Singh’s legacy. She conveyed her best wishes and gratitude to all participants.

Minister Singh highlighted that the area on Parliament Street is not merely a government office but a vital historical site linked to Bhagat Singh’s life and struggles. He announced that this site has now been officially recognized as the “Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Struggle Site.”

Singh detailed that after the assembly bomb blast and subsequent arrest, Bhagat Singh was brought to the court located within this complex, where proceedings against him took place. Following his appointment to the Cooperation Department, Singh gathered historical documents and records related to this site, confirming its historical significance.

He raised the issue of preserving this historic site before Chief Minister Gupta and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Singh expressed pride in the transformation of the location, previously known as the RCS office, into the “Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Struggle Site,” calling it a true tribute by the Delhi government to the nation’s great revolutionaries.

The march traversed several notable landmarks, including Vittal Bhai Patel House, Mavalankar Hall, Shram Shakti Bhawan, Rafi Marg, and concluded at Kartavya Path. There, patriotic songs and cultural performances were showcased, culminating in a light and sound program that depicted the life, struggles, and sacrifices of Bhagat Singh.

Singh urged the youth to keep the flame of patriotism alive in their hearts, emphasizing the need to uphold the ideals of courage and dedication to the nation demonstrated by the martyrs.
