New Delhi, August 4 (H.S.): The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi has accepted the closure report filed in a vigilance case against former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain and several officials. Special Judge Digvijay Singh stated that despite a prolonged investigation, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) found no evidence to support the allegations.

The case pertained to alleged irregularities in the recruitment of professionals in the Public Works Department (PWD) in violation of established rules. The court observed that the investigation revealed no criminal activity or misuse of public funds.
The CBI had registered the FIR on May 29, 2019, based on a complaint from the Directorate of Vigilance. The FIR alleged that tender conditions were deliberately modified to favour a private company, enabling it to qualify for a PWD contract.
However, after four years of investigation, the CBI concluded that there was no financial gain, no evidence of conspiracy, and no fraudulent activity by any public servant. The individuals selected were found to be eligible for the positions.
The closure report also noted that professionals initially engaged for the Barapullah Elevated Corridor Project were later transferred to the priority Mohalla Clinic project, with all expenses covered by the Delhi government.
The court stated that since no criminal evidence had emerged even after such a long investigation, there was no reason to continue the proceedings.
