Delhi Capitals Opt to Bowl First in Crucial WPL Clash Against UP Warriors

Vadodara: Delhi Capitals won the toss and chose to bowl first in the 20th match of the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL) against UP Warriors at the BCA Stadium.

After winning the toss on Sunday, Delhi Capitals captain Jemimah Rodrigues said, “We will bowl first. The team is very motivated. Honestly, captaining this team is an easy task because they make me feel very comfortable. The energy, intensity, and style of cricket we play will remain unchanged; there will be no compromise. Every match is a great learning experience for me and I believe it will greatly help my cricket career.”

On the other hand, UP Warriors captain Meg Lanning said, “Our start in the last match was decent, but we couldn’t finish it with a win. Hopefully, we will get to play the full 20 overs this time. We still want to win this match. Tonight, we are giving some players a chance to showcase their skills. We are introducing new energy into the team and hope it brings positive results. Shweta, Amy Jones, and Chloe Tryon are replaced by Shipra, Dottin, and Nott. We expect this combination to be a winning one.”

Delhi Capitals currently hold fourth place on the points table with 3 wins out of 7 matches, while UP Warriors are at the bottom after losing 5 of their 7 games.

RCB has already qualified for the final with 6 wins out of 8 matches, and Gujarat Giants have secured a spot in the eliminator by winning 5 out of 8 games. This match will also be crucial for Mumbai Indians, who are in third place with 3 wins from 8 matches.
