New Delhi, March 14: Aryna Sabalenka has secured her place in the finals of the Indian Wells Masters. She triumphed over Linda Noskova with a score of 6-3, 6-4, marking her third appearance in the tournament’s final.
From the outset, Sabalenka established her dominance against the 21-year-old Noskova, who was playing in her first Indian Wells semifinal. Sabalenka quickly built a double-break lead, going up 5-1, and clinched the first set in no time.
In the second set, the Czech player began to find her footing. Noskova showcased her serving skills by saving two break points to narrow the score to 3-2, keeping the match competitive. She even earned a break point at 4-3, 30-40, during Sabalenka’s serve. However, the world number one responded with three powerful serves, bringing the score to 6-3, 5-3, and putting her on the brink of victory.
Just two games later, Sabalenka sealed the match with a forehand winner, finishing in one hour and 28 minutes.
