
New Delhi, June 8: Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta will address the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Zone-2 North Zone conference in Chandigarh on Monday.
According to an official, the conference, themed “The Role of an Aware Society and Public Representatives: Future Challenges and Realizing the Developed India 2047 Goal,” will take place on June 8 and 9 at the Haryana Assembly.
This two-day regional conference will see participation from presiding officers, assembly speakers, and legislators from various northern states. The aim is to discuss legislative efforts aligned with the long-term national goal of a developed India by 2047.
The statement noted that the conference will serve as a vital platform for strengthening parliamentary institutions, enhancing modern legislative processes, and promoting democratic cooperation in the region.
The program aims to foster meaningful dialogue between the public and elected representatives by bringing together key public figures and policymakers. Participants will discuss future social and economic challenges and develop effective governance models to meet the needs of a rapidly evolving nation.
Representing the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta will actively participate in these high-level sessions, sharing his views on empowering citizens and increasing public participation in the legislative process.
According to the statement, distinguished attendees will work towards creating a robust action plan for public representatives through the exchange of better traditions and experiences in parliamentary procedures. This aims to effectively address regional issues and achieve the goal of a developed India by 2047 through an informed society and dedicated representatives.
Earlier, Vijender Gupta, along with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, launched the first issue of the Delhi Assembly’s quarterly magazine ‘Vidhan-Chetna.’ They also inaugurated the publication of 89 volumes of the proceedings of the Central Assembly from 1924 to 1930.
The Delhi Assembly Speaker remarked that this historic event serves as a significant bridge between India’s rich parliamentary heritage and modern legislative development.
Gupta, who chaired the event, emphasized that the ceremony reflects a deep commitment to preserving institutional history and promoting modern democratic dialogue.
