Quetta, June 8: Baloch armed groups have asserted that their recent attacks have caused considerable damage to Pakistani security forces. Reports indicate that several personnel, including a high-ranking officer of the Pakistani army, have been killed in various assaults.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for an armed attack on Pakistani security forces near the Turbat area. According to the organization, this assault resulted in the deaths of a senior Pakistani army officer and three other military personnel.
As reported by the Balochistan Post, two other armed groups, the Baloch Raaji Aajoi Sangar (BRAS) and the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG), have also claimed attacks on Pakistani security forces in the Jeheri and Kachhi regions of Balochistan.
In a statement released on Sunday, BLA spokesperson Jiand Baloch stated that their fighters executed an attack in the Kalatuk area of Turbat. The BLA claims that this operation was based on confidential and verified intelligence provided by their intelligence wing, “Ziraab,” on June 6.
In a separate statement, BRAS claimed that its fighters targeted Pakistani security forces in the Balbal area of Jeheri, resulting in the deaths of eight soldiers. BRAS spokesperson Baloch Khan mentioned that on June 2, their fighters ambushed a convoy of military vehicles, claiming that eight soldiers were killed, one military vehicle was destroyed, and security forces were forced to retreat.
According to BRAS, the Pakistani army later attempted to advance again with tanks, armored vehicles, and other military resources. However, their fighters launched another attack, damaging an armored vehicle and causing additional casualties.
Furthermore, BRG has claimed that it attacked a main camp of Pakistani security forces in the Sanni area. BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch stated that on the night of June 2, their fighters surrounded the camp and launched an assault using rocket launchers, LMGs, and other heavy weapons.
The organization claims that this attack resulted in multiple casualties among soldiers, with some fatalities and several injuries reported. BRG stated, “The Baloch Republican Guards take responsibility for this attack, and such operations will continue until the independence of Balochistan.”
