Mumbai, April 9: Renowned music director and singer Daboo Malik paid tribute to his favorite composer, Rahul Dev Burman, by sharing a special video on Instagram on Thursday.

In the video, Daboo performs the iconic song “Main Shayar Badnam” in his unique style during an event. His post not only honors R.D. Burman but also offers music lovers a chance to relive cherished memories.

Daboo wrote, “Rahul Dev Burman was born on June 27, 1939, in Kolkata. He was a composer whose melodies have resonated in people’s hearts for decades, and his musical style is still felt in major films today.”

He elaborated on the song “Main Shayar Badnam,” stating, “This song is a perfect fusion of my four favorite artists: R.D. Burman, Kishore Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, and Anand Bakshi.”

Daboo further expressed that classic songs reside in every musician’s heart. When they sing or perform these songs on stage, they feel rejuvenated and alive. He concluded with, “With complete humility, I dedicate this song to these timeless great artists.”

The song “Mera Shayar Badnam” is from the 1973 film “Namak Halaal.” Sung by Kishore Kumar, the music was composed by R.D. Burman, with lyrics by Anand Bakshi. Rajesh Khanna starred in the lead role of this film, and the song continues to be a favorite among audiences.
