Arrest of Notorious Criminal Linked to Golf Links Robbery in Delhi

Delhi police apprehend a wanted criminal involved in a high-profile robbery at a businessman’s home in Golf Links, recovering stolen goods.

New Delhi, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : The Delhi Police’s Crime Branch has made a significant breakthrough in a high-profile armed robbery case in the upscale Golf Links area. They arrested a 22-year-old wanted criminal, Sushil Kumar, who was allegedly involved in the robbery at the home of businessman Ashok Chawla.

The incident occurred on April 16, when a group of seven to eight armed assailants broke into Chawla’s residence, located at 187 Golf Links. Armed with swords and other deadly weapons, the attackers assaulted family members and threatened them, making off with cash and jewelry valued between 30 to 35 lakh rupees.

Investigations revealed that the robbery was allegedly orchestrated with the help of Sushil Kumar, who had recently been employed as a domestic worker at the Chawla residence. Following the incident, a case was registered at the Tughlak Road police station under FIR number 29/2026, invoking sections of the Indian Penal Code.

While six co-accused had already been apprehended, Sushil managed to evade capture. Consequently, a non-bailable warrant was issued against him, and a reward of 50,000 rupees was announced for information leading to his arrest on October 22, given the severity of the crime.

The Crime Branch then tasked its teams with tracking down wanted and absconding criminals across Delhi and other states. Their efforts paid off after gathering technical surveillance and ground intelligence. Based on specific information about Sushil’s hiding location in Bihar, a special team was formed under the leadership of Inspector Veer Singh, supervised by ACP Pankaj Arora and DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav.

The team, which included Sub-Inspectors Imran and Ankur, as well as ASI Deepchand and Umesh Kumar, successfully located and arrested Sushil Kumar.
