Court Extends Judicial Custody of Blast Accused in Delhis Red Fort Case

New Delhi, March 30: The Special NIA Court at Patiala House has extended the judicial custody of Tufail Ahmed Bhatt and Jameer Ahmed Ahangar, accused in the blast near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi, for an additional 30 days. Their previous 15-day custody was set to expire on Monday. Both were arrested in November 2025.

So far, 11 individuals have been apprehended in connection with this case. The accused have been identified as Jameer Ahmed Ahangar from Ganderbal and Tufail Ahmed Bhatt from Srinagar. The devastating explosion on November 10, 2025, claimed the lives of 11 people and left many others severely injured.

The main accused, Umar, was also killed in the blast. The NIA is conducting a thorough investigation aimed at uncovering the complete conspiracy behind this cowardly terrorist attack. According to the investigation agency, Jameer Ahmed and Tufail Ahmed were active Over Ground Workers (OGWs) for the banned terrorist organization Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGH).

The NIA’s investigation, coordinated with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, and other security agencies, revealed that both accused were not only involved in the Delhi blast conspiracy but had also participated in several other terrorist plots. The investigation further indicated that they were actively engaged in procuring weapons and ammunition intended for use against India.

The mastermind behind the Delhi blast was Umar, who planned the attack in collaboration with other accused, including Muzammil Ganai, Shaheen Syed, Mufti Irfan, Adil Ahmed Rather, and others. These individuals have already been arrested from various locations in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana. The NIA’s investigation is ongoing.
