Congress Prioritizes Party Over Nation, Claims BJP Leader Rohan Gupta

New Delhi, June 3: BJP leader Rohan Gupta has criticized the Congress party following remarks made by MP Shashi Tharoor regarding “Vande Mataram.” Gupta stated that Congress’s approach reflects a mindset that prioritizes vote bank politics over national interest.

In an interview with a news agency, Gupta emphasized that any event should begin with respect for patriotism and cultural values. He described “Vande Mataram” as a symbol of national sentiment and respect, accusing Congress of politicizing even this issue. According to him, such politics does not benefit anyone and only escalates political disputes.

Gupta alleged that Congress attempts to view every issue through a political lens, not shying away from politicizing national topics. He asserted that for Congress leaders, political gain comes before the country’s welfare. He claimed that Congress leaders engage in political maneuvering on every issue, focusing solely on their interests.

He pointed out that Congress has never prioritized national interest, which has led the public to reject them repeatedly. Gupta asserted that the people have chosen the BJP because it prioritizes national interest while advancing development and welfare initiatives.

Furthermore, he noted that Congress has long been involved in politics surrounding “Vande Mataram.” He urged Congress leaders to cease such political tactics and work towards peace, harmony, and development in the country. Gupta stated that the BJP is consistently working for the nation’s progress and will continue to do so.

During the discussion, he also mentioned the ideological differences within the India alliance. Gupta highlighted the evident lack of unity in thought within the coalition. He claimed that a recent video released by Rahul Gandhi, indirectly targeting Mamata Banerjee in the context of West Bengal, raises serious questions about the internal cohesion and ideology of the alliance. He remarked that such situations reflect the opposition’s weak position.

It is noteworthy that Congress MP Shashi Tharoor had mentioned that while everyone respects “Vande Mataram,” it is unreasonable to make singing all its stanzas mandatory at every ceremony. He stated, “Vande Mataram is a national song, and when it is sung, we stand respectfully. Most people can recite the first stanza or the initial two stanzas by heart.”
