Ludhiana, March 30: The murder of a local Congress leader in Ludhiana, Punjab, has caused widespread alarm. Punjab Congress leaders have targeted the state government regarding this incident.
Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring expressed his sorrow on social media platform X, criticizing the Punjab government for the deteriorating law and order situation. He stated that the government appears to be inactive.
Warring wrote, “I am deeply saddened by the daylight murder of our block president, Parminder Tiwari, from Machhiwara Sahib. He was a hardworking and integral part of our community. My condolences go out to his family during this difficult time.”
He further emphasized that the law and order situation in Punjab is continuously worsening, and the government is unresponsive.
Congress MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal also took to X, expressing his shock and grief over the brutal murder of Parminder Tiwari. “He was a dedicated leader from Machhiwara Sahib and played a crucial role in strengthening the Punjab Congress. His loss is heartbreaking. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this painful time,” he wrote.
Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, Congress MLA Pratap Singh Bajwa, stated that the daylight murder of their block president is not just a killing but a serious indictment of the chaos engulfing Punjab. “A dedicated Congress worker who devoted his life to public service has been shot dead,” he added.
Bajwa criticized Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government for its shameful silence on the matter.
Dr. Amar Singh, a Congress leader and MP from Fatehgarh Sahib, expressed similar sentiments, stating, “I am deeply shocked and saddened by the daylight murder of our block president, Parminder Tiwari. He was a hardworking and integral part of our community.”
Reports indicate that two assailants on a motorcycle attacked Parminder Tiwari on Sunday evening and fled the scene. He was severely injured and taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead by doctors.
Upon receiving news of the incident, police arrived at the scene and have begun an investigation. They are actively working to identify and apprehend the attackers as soon as possible.
