Congress Leader BK Hariprasad Advocates Voter Awareness Campaign

Hubli, June 25: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President BK Hariprasad announced that the party is actively raising awareness about a special intensive revision of the voter list. To facilitate this, the party is appointing representatives in all districts and talukas to engage with the public and inform them about the voter list.

In a press conference on Thursday, he emphasized that the primary goal is to educate the public about the Special Identification Registration (SIR) process, ensuring that no one is deprived of their voting rights. He stated, “The right to vote is fundamental in a democracy. We do not want anyone to be denied their voting rights under the guise of SIR.”

Hariprasad accused the BJP of attempting to strip the poor of their voting rights to undermine democracy. “We will not allow this to happen. We are working to raise awareness among the people,” he added. He mentioned that from June 30 to July 29, individuals will need to fill out a form to ascertain their political status.

He also claimed that alterations have been made to the voter lists in states like Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Bihar, suggesting that such manipulations aim to influence voters and secure electoral victories. “In such circumstances, we need to be vigilant to prevent any harm to political interests,” he remarked.

Hariprasad labeled the BJP as the most corrupt party currently, referencing Janardhan Reddy’s recent merger of his party with the BJP. “We will continue to oppose these developments,” he asserted.

Additionally, he responded to allegations regarding a donation scam at the Ram Temple, stating, “Those who have monopolized Hindutva are responsible for the embezzlement involving the temple’s treasurer. The central government must answer who has been stealing these funds.”
