Lucknow, August 1: The Congress party has intensified its protests against BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut following her controversial remarks. Anamika Yadav, the National Coordinator of the All India Mahila Congress, filed a complaint at the Hussain Ganj police station on Saturday, demanding the registration of an FIR against Ranaut.
The Congress alleges that her statement disrespects students, youth, women, and the new generation, potentially inciting social discord. In her petition to the Hussain Ganj police chief, Yadav referenced Ranaut’s public comments made on July 30 during protests at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi against the NEET paper leak.
Yadav accused Ranaut of making derogatory remarks about the protesting students, youth, and women, using offensive language towards the new generation and their parents. She stated that such statements not only insult the protesters but also demean the country’s youth, women, and their families.
According to Yadav, public statements like these can foster anger, discord, and unrest in society, hurting the sentiments of millions. The complaint calls for a fair investigation into Ranaut’s remarks and requests that an FIR be filed under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (BNS), 2023. It also seeks the preservation of original videos, audio, and social media posts related to the statement as evidence for legal action.
Yadav emphasized that the Congress will not remain silent on issues concerning the dignity of the new generation, students, and women, insisting that fair legal action must be taken in this case.
