New Delhi, August 7: BJP MP Gulam Ali Khatana responded to the opposition’s protests regarding Home Minister Amit Shah’s absence in Parliament. He stated that Congress should reflect on its actions. He accused the party of attempting to hijack student movements through anti-social elements.
In a conversation, Khatana insisted that Congress owes the nation an apology for involving anti-social elements in student protests. He questioned their motives behind this interference.
Regarding student demonstrations in Jharkhand, he criticized Rahul Gandhi for allegedly facilitating criminal involvement in protests in Delhi while engaging with students via video call. Khatana emphasized that Congress should listen to the students in Jharkhand, where many have been on hunger strikes for days.
Commenting on Rahul Gandhi’s event “Students’ Echo” in Prayagraj, Khatana remarked that Congress is fearful of student movements and is holding events in various locations. He claimed these gatherings are not about student voices but rather a reflection of Congress’s fears. He urged Congress to clarify what actions are being taken against paper leaks in states where they govern.
On the discussions between Gen Z and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in Mumbai, Khatana noted that the central government, led by Narendra Modi, has always prioritized the well-being and concerns of students.
On Friday, following the resumption of proceedings in the Lok Sabha, uproar and chaos erupted as opposition members vocally demanded the presence of the Home Minister. This disruption was part of a standoff that had stalled parliamentary proceedings for several days due to tensions over the Home Minister’s absence.
When the session resumed, opposition members began shouting slogans, leading to the suspension of proceedings until Monday.
