
Islamabad, April 6: An Iranian missile attack targeted the Khor Fakkan port in the United Arab Emirates, injuring three Pakistani citizens. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his concerns regarding this incident on Monday.
Following attacks from the United States and Israel, Iran has begun to target US-Israeli assets and bases in Gulf countries. In a post on the social media platform X, Prime Minister Sharif stated, “I am deeply concerned about the incident at Khor Fakkan port, where an intercepted projectile injured civilians, including Pakistani nationals.”
The Prime Minister prayed for the swift recovery of the injured and mentioned that he is in close contact with UAE authorities to ensure that Pakistani citizens receive all possible assistance.
He further emphasized, “Pakistan stands in solidarity with the brotherly people of the UAE and reiterates the urgent need for restraint and de-escalation in the region.”
According to Sharjah media, the UAE confirmed that a fire broke out following the incident at Khor Fakkan port on April 5. Emergency response teams swiftly initiated operations to control the situation, and cooling operations are currently underway after extinguishing the fire.
Reports indicate that a Nepali individual was also seriously injured in the attack and has been hospitalized for treatment, while the three Pakistani citizens sustained minor injuries.
Additionally, officials from Sharjah have urged the public to rely solely on official sources for information and to avoid spreading rumors or unverified news.
According to Reuters, Pakistan has devised a plan to ease tensions between Iran and the United States. Sources claim that Pakistan has prepared a framework aimed at ending hostilities, which would begin with an immediate ceasefire followed by a comprehensive agreement. However, there has been no official confirmation or statement regarding this plan.
