Colgate-Palmolive India Raises Toothpaste Prices by Up to 5% Amid Rising Input Costs

New Delhi, May 29: Colgate-Palmolive India, one of the leading FMCG companies in the country, has announced a price increase of up to 5% on its toothpaste products. This decision was reported on Friday.

According to a report by NDTV Profit, sources indicated that the company raised prices due to rising costs of raw materials and packaging. Popular toothpaste brands such as Colgate Dental Cream and Max Fresh have seen price hikes.

The price of the Colgate Dental Cream 200g plus 100g plus toothbrush pack has increased by ₹8, bringing the total to ₹208. Meanwhile, the 200g pack of Colgate Dental Cream has risen by ₹5, now costing ₹135. The 100g pack has also seen a price increase of ₹3, raising its price to ₹73, with an approximate 10% increase in quantity.

Additionally, the Colgate Max Fresh Blue 70g plus 15% extra pack has increased by ₹4, making its new price ₹83. Notably, premium products have experienced higher price hikes, such as the Visible White Purple 200g plus 20% extra pack, which has risen by ₹17 to ₹395.

Distributors have indicated that there may not be immediate changes in the prices of lower MRP packs, as these categories remain price-sensitive and primarily target average consumers.

This latest price increase comes at a time when FMCG companies are grappling with persistent inflationary pressures in commodities, packaging materials, and logistics costs.

According to reports, toothpaste accounts for approximately 80% of the company’s total revenue.

At noon, shares of Colgate-Palmolive India were trading at ₹2,082, reflecting a slight decline of 0.27% on the NSE.
