Jaya Bachchan Leads Family WhatsApp Group Activity, Amitabh Bachchan Relies on SMS for Messages

Mumbai, October 23 (Daily Kiran) : During a recent episode of Karan Johar’s chat show “Koffee with Karan,” Abhishek and Shweta Bachchan shared insights into their family’s WhatsApp group dynamics. The siblings revealed that their mother, Jaya Bachchan, is the most active participant on the platform, sending heartfelt videos every morning.

While Jaya is engaged on WhatsApp, her husband, the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, is less active. Abhishek noted that he often has to send SMS notifications to Amitabh to inform him about messages on WhatsApp. The iconic actor’s presence on social media is more prominent on platforms like X, where he regularly shares updates through his blogs.

Interestingly, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek’s wife, also tends to be inactive on WhatsApp, often taking her time to respond to calls and messages. The Bachchan family has a unique rule that requires all members to notify each other on the group about their flight departures and arrivals.

Recalling a humorous incident, Abhishek mentioned a time when Jaya informed the family via WhatsApp that she had landed and returned home. However, Amitabh, as usual, saw the message much later and replied, “Safe travels,” unaware that she was already home.

The episode featured several entertaining moments, including a light-hearted exchange between Abhishek and Karan about who he fears more—his wife or his mother. When asked by Karan, Abhishek candidly stated, “My mother.” Shweta chimed in with “Your wife,” prompting Abhishek to humorously remind her, “This is my rapid fire, be quiet.”
