VHP Demands Action Over Controversial Slogans at Jamia Millia Islamia
VHPs Vinod Bansal calls for strict action against those responsible for anti-government slogans at Jamia Millia Islamia.

New Delhi, October 23 (Daily Kiran) : The national spokesperson for the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Vinod Bansal, has expressed strong criticism regarding controversial slogans that appeared at Jamia Millia Islamia University. He condemned the anti-government slogans and those allegedly supporting Sharjeel Imam, who is currently imprisoned, demanding strict action against the responsible individuals.
Bansal emphasized that Jamia Millia Islamia is a prestigious central university located in the capital. He noted that attempts to tarnish the institution’s reputation have persisted for years. The recent slogans have once again raised questions about the university’s environment. He specifically objected to slogans like “Free Kashmir,” asserting that Kashmir is an integral part of India and will remain so. He also referenced slogans such as “Go Back RSS” and “Go Back VC,” stating that mere slogans cannot remove anyone from their position.
The VHP spokesperson urged the university administration to identify those promoting anti-national sentiments and take appropriate action against them. He accused Congress leaders of making political statements in support of Sharjeel Imam, calling it unfortunate to continuously glorify someone imprisoned.
Bansal further criticized the Congress and the INDIA alliance for allegedly providing political protection to such individuals. He stressed that activities questioning the Constitution, democracy, and justice system of India should be taken seriously. He condemned the slogans and insisted that the university administration must act promptly to maintain discipline on campus.
He posed questions to Congress leadership, asking whether Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge agree with the statements made by their leaders. Bansal demanded clarity from Congress on this issue and called for an apology.
