Bayern Munich Manager Vincent Kompany Collapses During Training, Hospitalized for Further Evaluation

Bayern Munichs Vincent Kompany collapsed during training and is currently hospitalized for medical evaluation ahead of a crucial match.

Munich, October 23 (Daily Kiran) : Vincent Kompany, the manager of Bayern Munich, collapsed during a training session in Munich on October 23. Emergency services quickly transported him to a hospital, where he will remain under medical supervision for further evaluation.

The club confirmed the incident, stating that Kompany lost consciousness during a training session for the FC Bayern amateur team. At the time, the first-team coach was overseeing the second team’s practice. Bayern released a statement indicating that Kompany would undergo a comprehensive medical check-up while his coaching staff takes over training and match-related responsibilities.

This alarming episode occurred just days before Bayern’s UEFA Champions League match against Arsenal. Kompany had previously reported pain in his legs and hips, which is suspected to be linked to a viral infection. Aaron Danks, Bayern’s assistant coach, addressed the media at the pre-match press conference, emphasizing that Kompany needs time to recover. “It’s just a virus. The doctors and specialists know better than I do what needs to be done. The most important thing is that we’ve advised him to rest. He should take as much time as he needs, no matter how long it takes. It’s hard to say whether he will be fine tomorrow or if it will take two or three days,” Danks explained.

Despite feeling unwell, Kompany was present on the bench during Bayern’s match against RB Leipzig on Saturday. However, he appeared lethargic and remained seated throughout the game. Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, revealed that Kompany was physically distressed and required assistance with stairs while battling the virus.

While Kompany is hospitalized, his coaching staff will manage training and match preparations. The club has not provided further details regarding his condition or how long he might be sidelined.
