Classic Romance ‘Ye Dil Aashiqana’ to Re-Release on Valentine’s Day

Mumbai: The magic of romance is set to return to the big screen during Valentine’s Week as the hit romantic drama ‘Ye Dil Aashiqana’ from 2002 is all set for a re-release. Fans will get to see the beloved pair Karan and Jividha on screen again, after 24 years, in their original charm.

True Entertainment Private Limited has announced that the film will be released in cinemas across the country on February 13, coinciding with Valentine’s Day. This marks the first opportunity for audiences to watch this film in theatres since its original release 24 years ago. Directed by Kuku Kohli, ‘Ye Dil Aashiqana’ was a box office success in 2002.

The film’s romantic chemistry between Karan Nath and Jividha Sharma, its action sequences, and memorable music composed by Nadeem-Shravan won the hearts of viewers. Notably, the film has never been available on OTT or digital platforms, making this theatrical re-release a special occasion for the new generation to experience it for the first time on the big screen.

True Entertainment has edited the film to suit contemporary audience sensibilities and has obtained a fresh certification from the censor board. Shailendra Mandowara, head of the company, said, “We believe some films are made exclusively for the theatre experience. ‘Ye Dil Aashiqana’ is one such film. It has never been released on satellite or OTT platforms. Following the positive response to the re-release of ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam’, this decision was natural. It is a celebration of cinema where audiences can relive old memories on the big screen.”

Director Kuku Kohli expressed his happiness, stating, “This film was made for the big screen. Its scale, music, and emotions are best experienced in theatres. I am glad the new generation will see it the same way it was seen in 2002. Romantic films have a large audience today, and this film will be well-liked by the youth. The memory of cinema is long-lasting, and such stories always make a comeback.”

Kuku Kohli had earlier launched Ajay Devgn with ‘Phool Aur Kaante’ and introduced Karan Nath and Jividha Sharma through ‘Ye Dil Aashiqana’.
